Carnival Committee:

Here's what happened!   There was a procession from Rivermouth at Ogmore-by-Sea which travelled via Southerndown to St. Brides Major finishing in the field next door to the Vicarage.

Floats  included:

St. Bridget's Church, Sunday School & Orchestra (Jonah and the Whale) which was the winning Float, Three Golden Cups pub (The Wizard of Oz) which came second, St. Brides School Chess Club (chess pieces) which came third, Fox & Hounds pub,  Heol-yr-Ysgol, Heritage Coast Visitor Centre (Sea Creatures), St. Brides School Gardening Club (Bill & Ben),  Horses, Carnival Committee (Film Stars), Carnival Queen and her attendants.  Ladies from the villages depicted famous women with a Jubilee theme.

Stalls  included:

Bric-a-brac, Plants, Antiques Craft, Craft, St. Bridget's Church, Cakes, Teas & Coffees, Pond life exhibition, Wood Turning, Farm Produce, Greetings Cards, Silk Paintings, Ogmore Church, Sweets, Raffle, Tombola, Ice Cream Van.

Displays and Demonstrations  included:

Nippers Life Savers, BossyBoots line dancing, Dog Show, Tae Kwon Do, Village Band and a Tug-of-war.

Other items  included:

Slides, Bouncy castle, Face painting, BBQ, Beer tent.  The Police, Fire engine and St John's Ambulance were in attendance.

A Children's Disco   in the afternoon was followed by

Dancing till midnight   for all the adults with live bands and a disco.  There were refreshments, burgers and a licensed bar. 

And finally....... many thanks to the committee for their hard work in organising this event and to those who turned up to help clear the field on Sunday morning
