Volunteers and staff from Bridgend Library began a project to read microfilm images of the local Gazette from the first editions onwards in order to collate all births, marriages and deaths mentioned within the newspapers, and in 2013 published these for the years 1866 up to 1877. Many inhabitants of this area are listed on the Welsh Mormon History web site as emigrating to America aboard the following vessels: Caravan - left Liverpool on 18th February, 1856; arrived
